Why FastComments is Leaving TrustPilot in 2026

What's Happening

FastComments has been a TrustPilot customer since 2022. In 2026 we are ending this partnership.

Our homepage review widget has been replaced with our own rating system, and we launched our /reviews page which is the new place to see what people think of FastComments.

Why We're Leaving

This is written personally by the person that runs FastComments, so this will sound very personal, because it is.

I like to use and work with companies that don't irritate me. TrustPilot has, over the entirety of our partnership, been irritating.

Here are a few reasons for this decision:

1. Using LLMs for Support

At FastComments, a real person answers all support channels, always. So I don't really tolerate companies trying to save money by using LLMs for support, especially when they hide it. For a while we had, who we'll call Debra, to reach out to for renewal discussions. This year it was clearly an LLM. I'm not sure if they fired Debra, but I wouldn't be surprised and don't really want to support this kind of excessive optimization, especially when the resulting experience is worse.

Also, the LLMs got things wrong during the renewal discussion, and I had to cite their own TOS for them.

2. Unclear Which Widgets Are Available on Which Plans

As the title says, it's unclear which widgets are available on which plans, and to access all the widgets is hundreds of dollars a month.

3. No Downgrade Path

If you're on a higher plan, they won't let you downgrade.

4. You Can't Remove Your Payment Method

There is no way to remove your payment method in their system.

5. 30 Day Cancel Clause

If you have automated renewals, you need to notify them 30 days in advance prior to renewal for cancellation. If they start the talks at day 40, and at day 20 you decide you don't want to renew, too bad, they're gonna charge you.

Luckily we didn't have automated renewal, but I am not a fan of this policy.

6. Nonsense Negative Reviews

Sometimes people would leave a non-verified negative review with literal nonsense (like face on keyboard) that TP*1 won't remove.

7. Review Ownership

This one isn't their fault so much as the design of the "partnership". You don't own the reviews, the reviewers do, but it's on TrustPilot... So if you want to ever do anything with that data, it's pretty difficult. Having it in our own platform, and collecting the reviews ourselves long term, is best for us. We can still try to incentivize people to also review on TP, but it's secondary now.

What This Means For You

You can now leave a review on the /reviews page easily. You can still review us on TrustPilot or G2, we just don't have a partnership for their widgets or integrations.

In Conclusion

We appreciate everyone who took the time to leave us a review, and we hope you continue to enjoy using our platform. :)

Cheers!
